About the Author
Rev. Wong Kim Kong was the Secretary-General of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) Malaysia for 12 years prior to being named the Executive Adviser. Prior to his appointment as the Hon. Director of the Transformational Leadership Development Commission of the Asia Evangelical Alliance, He served as the Hon. Treasurer of the Asian Evangelical Alliance formerly known as EFA 1997-2008. He was the past Vice-Chairman of the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) 2001-2005. Kim Kong was the founding Chairman and former Executive Director of Malaysian CARE, a Christian relief organization. He co-founded the Diakonia Christian Church and presides as Elder since 1977.
Kim Kong obtained his bachelor degree in Economics & Administration from the University Malaya and a post graduate diploma in Education in the same university. Prior to his calling into the Lord’s ministry, he taught economics and mathematics in a public high school for 14 years. He responded to Christian full time service in 1989, first served as a pastor, subsequently as the chief executive officer of Malaysian CARE and later with the national evangelical alliance of Malaysia.
He advises and mentors pastors and Christian organizations and travels extensively to teach, preach, and train at National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. Kim Kong also taught as adjunct lecturer in several theological seminaries. He is also an international faculty of Haggai Institute and several other Leadership Institutes. Currently, he serves as adviser to 25 Christian organizations both in Malaysia and overseas.
Kim Kong used to be featured as spokesman of the Christian community in national and international media. His life and ministry were recently broadcasted in Good TV Taiwan, Creation TV Hong Kong, My Hope Project of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Who's Who Malaysia and several secular newspaper and Christian magazines. In recognition of his contribution to the nation, he was conferred by the King of Malaysia an honor “The Most Distinguish Order of National Chivalry – Johan Mangku Negara.” Kim Kong is also the author of the book “Living and Leading with Limitations”. He is married to Serene and has three sons.
